Co-existence with the wild animal on the farm

Today I went to harvest our homegrown potato…

I was expecting a good amount as last year at another spot in our land. When I dug the first plant, the second plant, I discovered there are only 4-5 potatoes from each plant, sometimes even only two. I knew that it was the underground mouse that ate the rest of the potato.

So i started to talk to them with telepathy,

I expressed in my mind : “please don’t eat my potato, even you eat, don’t eat so much”

They replied :

“you planted food on my home land, why can’t I eat it?” it is my part. ( like a rental), i already leave you some, i didn’t eat all”

True, when I planted the seed, I already noticed there’s an underground tunnel all around.I knew they live there, but it is also my home, my farm.

,thinking maybe i can asked them to leave me 10-20 potato per plants, but i think i should fight for effort on farming too, then i said

“ how about you we share, you can have 10%…..”

They replied:

“Too little…”

Oh god, I agree to give them shares but they negotiate…….

I’m a bit annoyed, I said:

“You know i can buy the device with ultrasound to get rid of you tomorrow, or i can even put poison to you….but of cause i don’t want to.”

Seems they understand i won’t give up easily, they offer something back:

“ Do you know, I help you to manage the soil health too. I also kill the bad insects & worms who could eat up your potato.”

I exclaimed:

“Really, oh i didn’t know, is it true? If yes i will acknowledge you contribution and share with you food in a way we are both happy”

I got a suggestion from them that next year I can do a test. One plant they will help to take care,  one plant they will leave it alone. And let’s see what happens.

OK, let’s do this!

Then suddenly I have a thought, maybe it is the beginning of a mission : me and these underground mice as an ambassador between farmers and their species. If it works out, I will promote it among human farmers, there will promote it among underground mice. To achieve a mutual benefit way of coexistence. Famer do not need to put so much effort into getting rid of them and more importantly they do not need to put pesticides against bugs and worms, food supply for humans will be more healthy and sustainable.
